What you'll do

• Lead and manage a team of applications engineers, providing guidance and support to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of application software for Bamboohr' robotic systems, ensuring alignment with product specifications and customer requirements.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineering, product management, and customer support, to ensure seamless integration of applications with robotic hardware.
• Develop and implement best practices for software development processes, including coding standards, testing protocols, and documentation procedures.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs and gather feedback, translating this information into actionable insights for product improvement.
• Monitor project timelines and budgets, ensuring that all projects are delivered on schedule and within financial constraints.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations of team members, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for professional development.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in robotics and software engineering, applying this knowledge to enhance Bamboohr' product offerings.
• Prepare and present technical reports and project updates to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment on project goals.
• Facilitate training sessions and workshops for both internal teams and customers, promoting the effective use of Bamboohr' applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to applications in the field, working closely with the support team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to the strategic planning of product roadmaps, identifying opportunities for new features and enhancements based on market research and customer feedback.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proven experience in developing software applications for robotics or automation systems.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java, and experience with software development tools and frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with project management tools and techniques, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and IoT technologies as they relate to robotics applications.

Nice to have

• Experience in the robotics industry, particularly with autonomous systems or mobile robots.
• Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence principles as they apply to robotics.
• Familiarity with user interface design and user experience principles for software applications.
