What you'll do
- Prepare and maintain detailed cost estimates for new products and projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company goals.
- Analyze manufacturing costs and variances to identify trends and provide actionable insights to management.
- Develop and implement cost control measures to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the production team to assess cost implications of changes in manufacturing processes or materials.
- Prepare monthly cost reports and present findings to senior management, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory and work in progress to ensure accurate valuation and reporting.
- Support the finance team in month-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations related to cost accounting.
- Work closely with the procurement department to analyze supplier costs and negotiate favorable terms.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff on cost accounting principles and practices.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to improve financial processes and systems.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cost accounting and financial management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar financial role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices, including standard costing and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with SAP or similar platforms is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create complex financial models and perform data analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards relevant to the manufacturing industry.
Nice to have
- Professional certification such as CMA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience in robotics or technology sectors is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and practices.
- Previous experience with financial forecasting and strategic planning.
