What you'll do

Drive the end to end financial management for the capability including P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Define and implement the financial strategy and commercial framework in partnership with client and capability leaders to support profitable growth.

Lead the development of business cases, investment proposals, and financial modelling to inform strategic decision making.

Partner with operational teams to optimize performance, manage costs, and improve profitability across all activities.

Own the governance and oversight of financial processes, ensuring strong internal controls, compliance, and risk management.

Champion data driven insights and reporting to guide leadership discussions, track performance, and identify opportunities.

Collaborate with HR and operations to manage people planning, talent development, and resource allocation within the capability.

Act as the primary financial advisor to senior stakeholders, providing clear, concise, and actionable recommendations.

Lead cross functional initiatives that require deep financial analysis and stakeholder management.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and trust.

Drive the implementation of financial tools and systems that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.

Support the development of the capability roadmap by providing rigorous financial analysis and scenario planning.

Champion a culture of financial discipline and continuous improvement across the team and wider organization.

Ensure all financial activities adhere to Avalere Health's global standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

You must have a proven track record of senior finance leadership in a professional services or advisory environment.

You must possess strong P&L ownership and experience managing financial performance in a fast paced, client facing setting.

You must have deep expertise in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

You must demonstrate exceptional commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial data into strategic decisions.

You must have a history of leading cross functional teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships.

You must be highly proficient in financial systems, tools, and technologies relevant to large scale operations.

You must hold a recognized professional accounting qualification and possess strong technical accounting knowledge.

You must have a proven commitment to governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks.

Nice to have

Experience in the healthcare or life sciences sector is preferred.

Prior experience working in a hybrid or flexible working environment is valued.

Experience with global finance transformations or process optimization initiatives.

This is a permanent, full time role based in Washington DC.

Employees may work from any location based on team and client need, with access to major city hubs in London, Manchester, Washington D.C., and New York, and smaller offices globally.
