Salesforce Developer
Job description
About the role
This position represents a direct contribution to the core business operations of AutoScout24. The Salesforce Developer will act as the technical owner for the end-to-end lifecycle of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) functionalities. The primary responsibility involves owning the processes that manage leads, opportunities, and customer interactions within the Salesforce ecosystem. Success in this role requires balancing technical proficiency with close collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure technology enables commercial activity rather than restricts it. The selected professional will translate complex business requirements into stable, user-friendly technical solutions that directly influence the efficiency of sales and service teams. The role is based in Munich, Germany, and operates on a full-time schedule with a standard commitment of 35 hours per week.
What you'll do
You will design, implement, and manage business processes and data flows that power Salesforce instances for Sales and Service teams. This includes owning the complete lifecycle of CRM capabilities, from initial requirement gathering through to deployment and support. A core component of the role involves guiding business users to clarify requirements and translating these needs into clear, actionable technical specifications for development teams. You will be responsible for building and managing API-based integrations that connect Salesforce with external systems and third-party providers.
Creating and maintaining comprehensive technical and user documentation is a core duty, ensuring that system behavior is transparent and support requirements are understood by all teams. The role demands rigorous testing of all changes and configurations to guarantee quality, stability, and data integrity before deployment to production environments. You will coordinate closely with business analysts, consultants, and other developers to ensure that technical solutions align with the broader product and service roadmap.
A specific and critical responsibility involves the development, maintenance, and support of a self-built B2B invoicing system. This system utilizes a hybrid architecture combining Java backend logic with MuleSoft integration tools, requiring you to manage the full stack of this integration. You will also provide ongoing support and expert guidance to end users, helping them leverage CRM features effectively to meet their daily commercial objectives and ensuring the system accurately reflects commercial reality.
Requirements
Hands-on experience developing solutions on the Salesforce platform is mandatory for this role. You must possess a solid, proven understanding of core Salesforce development technologies and declarative tools. This includes a deep knowledge of APEX for backend logic, Visualforce for custom user interfaces, Lightning Experience for navigation and page layout management, and Lightning Web Components for modern, responsive front-end development. Proficiency in querying languages is essential; you must be highly skilled in SOQL for Salesforce object data retrieval and manipulation, as well as SQL for interacting with external data sources.
You must be thoroughly comfortable navigating the fundamental differences and deployment processes between Salesforce Sandbox and production environments. A minimum of two years of professional experience in a Salesforce Developer role is required, demonstrating your ability to work within established deployment workflows and manage release cycles. You must be meticulous in your approach to deployment, ensuring code integrity and system stability are never compromised. Prior experience with MuleSoft and the design of API integrations is considered a valuable asset, particularly given the specific B2B invoicing system responsibilities.
Skills & tools
Your daily work will rely on a specific and modern set of technologies. You will work extensively with Salesforce Platform, MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Java for backend development, and SQL for database querying. This combination requires the ability to integrate cloud-based CRM systems with internal enterprise applications seamlessly.
