Attentive is seeking a Senior NetSuite Engineer to oversee the architecture, scalability, and long-term evolution of our financial technology platform. This role balances strategic planning with hands-on development, requiring you to define system direction while actively building solutions within our ERP ecosystem. You will serve as the technical authority responsible for ensuring that our NetSuite environment can support aggressive business growth without sacrificing reliability or performance. Key facts
What you'll do
- Architect the end-to-end NetSuite and financial system ecosystem to support current and future business needs.
- Create multi-quarter strategies that prioritize scalability, operational simplicity, and long-term maintainability.
- Identify and mitigate systemic risks within the financial infrastructure to prevent future constraints and bottlenecks.
- Partner with business stakeholders to design and implement solutions that align precisely with company goals and operational workflows.
- Enforce strict standards for clean architecture, automation, and system design across all NetSuite projects.
- Reduce technical debt and eliminate redundant logic to streamline processes and improve system performance.
- Build solutions using SuiteBuilder, SuiteFlow, Custom Records, Saved Searches, SuiteScript, SuiteTalk APIs, and the SuiteCloud Development Framework.
- Lead system redesigns for complex modules including Zone Advanced Billing, intricate pricing models, OneWorld subsidiary structures, and intercompany transactions.
- Design and oversee integrations between NetSuite and other enterprise applications to guarantee data consistency and integrity.
- Formalize release management practices, including Sandbox strategy, deployment processes, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth updates.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and conduct proactive maintenance to ensure maximum system stability and uptime.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing workflows to enhance efficiency and user experience within NetSuite.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure that technical solutions meet business objectives.
- Mentor junior engineers on best practices for NetSuite development and system architecture.
Requirements
- 5 to 7+ years of experience implementing and scaling NetSuite in high-growth SaaS environments, demonstrating a proven track record.
- Proficiency in SuiteScript 1.0/2.x, SuiteFlow, SuiteBuilder, and NetSuite APIs, including REST and SOAP integrations.
- Hands-on experience with Zone Advanced Billing, including rating, invoicing, and revenue recognition workflows in complex scenarios.
- Deep knowledge of order-to-cash and quote-to-cash processes, including subscription billing, revenue recognition, and complex pricing models.
- Experience with NetSuite OneWorld, including multi-subsidiary design, intercompany eliminations, and global financial operations.
- Strong understanding of SDLC best practices for design, testing, documentation, and deployment in a SaaS context.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions using NetSuite tools.
- Demonstrated skill in debugging and resolving complex issues within NetSuite configurations and customizations.
Nice to have
- NetSuite certifications: SuiteFoundation, Administrator, SuiteCloud Developer, or ERP Consultant credentials that validate expertise.
- Experience building and maintaining integrations using Boomi or similar iPaaS platforms.
