The Business Intelligence team at Attentive is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to transform raw data into clear insights and reporting. You will own the design and management of the data infrastructure, pipelines, and models that power data-driven decision-making across the organization. The role requires close collaboration with product and engineering partners to define and standardize analytics metrics. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of the analytics stack. What you'll do
- Collaborate with product and engineering departments to establish analytics metrics and requirements.
- Create and maintain executive-level dashboards to support organizational strategy.
- Develop and manage scalable data models within dbt and Looker.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Oversee the company data analytics platform, Looker.
- Implement robust data transformation logic to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Partner with stakeholders to gather, interpret, and translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Optimize query performance to improve dashboard responsiveness and user experience.
- Establish data governance practices to maintain documentation and metadata integrity.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure best practices and maintain high standards for analytics code.
- Monitor data pipelines to detect issues and coordinate resolutions with engineering teams.
- Explore and prototype analytical solutions using modern data tools and methodologies.
- Mentor junior analysts and engineers on data modeling and visualization techniques.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for the analytics infrastructure and processes.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
- Possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in business intelligence or analytics.
- Demonstrate proficiency in data visualization tools like Looker or Tableau.
- Show expertise in writing and optimizing SQL queries for complex datasets.
- Have experience with ETL processes and reporting infrastructure.
- Exhibit the ability to manage projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain strong communication skills for presenting findings to stakeholders effectively.
- Display a proven track record of delivering data-driven recommendations that influence business outcomes.
Nice to have
- Experience with dbt, Airflow, or modern ELT/ETL workflows.
- Ability to use AI/LLM tools like ChatGPT or Claude Code for SQL generation and documentation.
- Experience with reproducible notebook platforms such as Hex or Jupyter.
- Proficiency in Python or R for statistical modeling.
- Background in establishing CI/CD workflows, testing frameworks, or modeling standards for analytics code.
