What you'll do

• Design and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases for PowerBi reports and dashboards to ensure they meet business requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with data analysts and developers to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective testing strategies.
• Execute functional, regression, and performance testing on PowerBi reports to identify issues and ensure optimal performance.
• Utilize automated testing tools where applicable to streamline the testing process and improve efficiency.
• Document and track defects using appropriate bug tracking tools, ensuring clear communication with development teams for timely resolution.
• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) with stakeholders to validate that the reports meet their needs and expectations.
• Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on findings, including recommendations for improvements.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in QA methodologies and PowerBi features to continuously enhance testing practices.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on process improvements and best practices in quality assurance.
• Mentor junior QA team members, sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
• Assist in the development of training materials and documentation for end-users to facilitate the effective use of PowerBi reports.
• Support the deployment of PowerBi solutions, ensuring that all quality checks are completed before going live.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance, specifically with PowerBi or similar data visualization tools.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software products.
• Proficiency in SQL and data analysis to validate data integrity and accuracy in reports.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and document defects clearly.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams is a plus.

Nice to have

• Certification in Quality Assurance or Testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of other data visualization tools such as Tableau or QlikView.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and services (e.g., Azure, AWS).
• Experience in performance testing and tuning of PowerBi reports.
