What you'll do

• Lead and mentor a team of developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages professional growth and skill development.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from initial concept through to deployment and maintenance, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Implement and maintain agile methodologies, ensuring that the team is aligned and that projects are delivered on time and within scope.
• Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members, promoting continuous improvement and adherence to coding standards.
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the development process, proactively addressing potential issues before they impact project timelines.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating relevant advancements into the development process to enhance product offerings.
• Facilitate effective communication within the team and across departments, ensuring that everyone is informed and aligned on project goals and progress.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that all milestones are met and that the team is equipped to handle any challenges that arise.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all projects, ensuring that knowledge is shared and accessible for current and future team members.
• Engage in recruitment efforts to attract top talent to the development team, participating in interviews and onboarding processes.
• Contribute to strategic planning sessions, providing insights and recommendations based on technical expertise and industry knowledge.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a proven track record of leading development teams.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Ruby, with experience in frameworks like React, Angular, or Django.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and Scrum, with experience implementing these practices in a team setting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• A passion for technology and a desire to stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, particularly in deploying and managing applications.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, enhancing the development and deployment processes.
• Knowledge of database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Previous experience in a startup environment, demonstrating adaptability and resourcefulness.
• Understanding of user experience (UX) principles and the ability to collaborate with design teams effectively.
