Frontend Engineer Intern

About the role

Ataccama is looking for a part-time intern to join our engineering team in Prague. You will contribute to our data management platform while receiving mentorship to help you grow your technical skills. In this capacity, you will become an active participant in the daily engineering lifecycle, owning tasks from initial conception through to final deployment. The intern will be responsible for crafting high-quality user interfaces that directly impact how customers interact with complex data platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into intuitive and responsive software solutions. This position provides a unique opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a professional setting while solving real-world engineering challenges. What you'll do

• Architect and implement responsive user interface components within our Nx monorepo using React and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with UX designers and backend engineers to refine product features and ensure seamless integration.
• Write and maintain integration tests and end-to-end test scenarios using Vitest, Testing Library, and Playwright.
• Configure and optimize routing behavior for complex workflows using TanStack Router.
• Validate and structure form inputs by integrating React Hook Form with Zod for robust data integrity.
• Query and mutate data through GraphQL APIs, leveraging Apollo Client to manage state and caching effectively.
• Incorporate AI-assisted development practices by utilizing Claude Code to accelerate prototyping and debugging workflows.
• Adhere to design standards by implementing components that align with the Flamingo design system and brand guidelines.
• Review peer code, provide constructive feedback, and iterate on solutions based on team discussions.
• Participate in deployment pipelines and contribute to release activities that support enterprise software delivery.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues that arise in staging or production environments.
• Document component behavior and application logic to ensure clarity for future maintenance and onboarding.
• Engage in daily standups and agile ceremonies to synchronize priorities and communicate progress effectively.
• Explore emerging frontend patterns and propose improvements that enhance developer experience and user satisfaction.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or demonstrating equivalent self-taught experience.
• Writing JavaScript and TypeScript code beyond basic tutorials, with an understanding of types and modern syntax.
• Prior experience building applications using a component framework such as React is essential.
• A portfolio, GitHub repository, or project samples that showcase your practical work and technical capabilities.
• A strong interest in combining logical problem-solving skills with user experience design principles.
• The ability to work effectively within a team environment and integrate feedback into your deliverables.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, libraries, and development methodologies quickly.
• Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code that follows established conventions and best practices.
