What you'll do

• Develop and deliver engaging undergraduate and graduate courses in Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems, ensuring alignment with the latest industry trends and academic standards.
• Supervise student projects and research initiatives, guiding students in their exploration of AI applications and ethical considerations.
• Conduct original research in the field of AI, contributing to academic publications and presenting findings at conferences to enhance the university's reputation.
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to integrate AI concepts into various curricula, promoting interdisciplinary learning.
• Mentor students in their academic and professional development, providing guidance on career paths and research opportunities in AI.
• Engage with industry partners to create internship opportunities and collaborative projects that enhance the practical learning experience for students.
• Participate in departmental and university committees, contributing to the strategic direction and continuous improvement of the Computer Science program.
• Stay current with advancements in AI and related technologies, incorporating new knowledge into teaching and research activities.
• Organize and lead workshops, seminars, and guest lectures to enrich the academic experience and foster a vibrant intellectual community.
• Contribute to the development of grant proposals to secure funding for research projects and initiatives in AI.
• Promote ethical practices in AI research and application, ensuring that students understand the societal implications of their work.
• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new faculty members, sharing insights and best practices in teaching and research.

Requirements

• A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field, with a strong focus on Intelligent Systems.
• A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the university level, demonstrating effective instructional strategies and student engagement.
• A proven track record of research in AI, with publications in reputable journals and presentations at academic conferences.
• Familiarity with current AI tools, frameworks, and programming languages, such as Python, TensorFlow, or similar technologies.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that values diversity and promotes equity.

Nice to have

• Experience in curriculum development and innovative teaching methodologies, particularly in online or hybrid formats.
• Knowledge of ethical considerations in AI and a commitment to promoting responsible AI practices.
• Previous experience working in an international or multicultural academic setting.

• Familiarity with grant writing and securing funding for research initiatives.

Skills & tools

• Proficiency in programming languages relevant to AI, such as Python, R, or Java.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and tools, including TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical challenges.
• Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools, such as MATLAB or Tableau.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
