What you'll do

• Design and implement comprehensive training programs that align with organizational goals and operational requirements.
• Conduct thorough assessments to identify training needs and gaps within the organization, ensuring that all personnel are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
• Lead and facilitate training exercises, simulations, and drills that test the readiness of teams and individuals in real-world scenarios.
• Collaborate with various departments to integrate training initiatives into broader organizational strategies and objectives.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.
• Develop training materials, including manuals, presentations, and e-learning modules, to support diverse learning styles and preferences.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to training and readiness, ensuring that Bamboohr remains compliant and competitive.
• Mentor and guide junior staff members in training methodologies and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior management that outline training progress, outcomes, and recommendations for future initiatives.
• Coordinate with external partners and stakeholders to enhance training opportunities and resources, leveraging community and industry relationships.
• Manage the training budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to maximize impact.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions to align training initiatives with the organization's long-term vision and goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Education, Training, or Organizational Development.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in training and development, with a focus on readiness and operational preparedness.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing successful training programs in a corporate or government setting.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
• Experience in leading training exercises and simulations, with a keen eye for detail and safety.
• Proficiency in using training software and tools, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
• Ability to analyze data and metrics to assess training effectiveness and make informed decisions.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support training initiatives and exercises.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a related field or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance).
• Experience in military or emergency management training environments.
• Familiarity with federal and state regulations related to training and readiness.
