Key facts
What you'll do
- Create high-quality 3D models and textures that align with the artistic direction of our projects.
- Collaborate with the art team to develop and maintain a consistent visual style across all assets.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to contribute innovative ideas and solutions for character and environment design.
- Optimize 3D assets for performance while ensuring visual fidelity in real-time applications.
- Work closely with animators to ensure that models are rigged and animated effectively, enhancing the overall user experience.
- Conduct regular reviews of your work and provide constructive feedback to junior artists, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques, integrating new methods into your workflow to improve efficiency and quality.
- Assist in the development of art pipelines and workflows, ensuring that processes are streamlined and effective.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to 3D asset creation and implementation.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing your expertise and helping them grow in their roles.
- Participate in cross-departmental meetings to align on project goals and timelines, ensuring that art assets meet the needs of the game design.
- Contribute to the overall vision of the project by providing insights and suggestions based on your artistic expertise.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a 3D Artist, preferably in the gaming industry.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max for modeling and animation.
- Strong skills in texturing and shading, with experience in tools like Substance Painter or Photoshop.
- A solid understanding of game engines, particularly Unity or Unreal Engine, and how to implement 3D assets within them.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your 3D art skills, including character models, environments, and any relevant animations.
- Familiarity with optimization techniques for real-time rendering and performance considerations.
Nice to have
- Experience in VR or AR development, particularly in creating immersive environments.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or MEL to automate tasks and improve workflows.
- Background in traditional art or illustration, providing a well-rounded approach to 3D design.
- Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role, demonstrating your ability to guide and inspire a team.
