Senior Product Marketing Manager
Job description
About the role
You will own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for Apify Store, defining how users discover, select, and start using Actors for their web data and automation needs. You will translate marketplace insights into clear messaging, positioning, and campaigns that make the store feel like a coherent product rather than a scattered list of tools. You will partner closely with product and engineering to turn user and market feedback into concrete improvements that boost discovery, conversion, and retention. You will also own the narrative around high-profile Actors and platform launches, ensuring each initiative reinforces trust and encourages repeat visits to the store. Your work will directly support the growth of the creator economy, which already earns more than $1 million per month for the community. You will bring the same strategic thinking you would to an e-commerce shop or app store, but applied to a marketplace of AI and web scraping tools. By aligning campaigns, collections, and product recommendations, you will help users move from a problem statement to running an Actor in minutes.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Own the communication strategy for Apify Store, including messaging, positioning, and campaigns that guide users from discovery to activation.
- Collaborate with the Discovery team to improve how users find the right Actor through search, categories, featured placements, and recommendations.
- Bring direct user and market feedback into product decisions so that the store experience continuously reflects real needs and pain points.
- Plan and run marketing campaigns for the Apify Store homepage and major launches, covering Store features, high-profile Actors, and platform capabilities.
- Ensure Apify Store reads as a coherent product by coordinating messaging and timing with other PMMs and cross-functional teams.
- Own the marketing of Store collections that group Actors around specific user problems or use cases, shortening the path from need to action.
- Conduct user research to understand why people come to Apify Store, what obstacles they face, and why they choose one Actor over another.
- Define, measure, and report on key metrics for Store marketing, such as user sign-ups, activation, trial-to-paid conversion, retention, and overall Store growth.
- Monitor competing platforms and app stores, turning insights into concrete recommendations for Apify Store and keeping internal stakeholders informed.
- Run experiments across channels and creative approaches to identify scalable ways to drive discovery, trust, and sign-ups for the store.
- Develop narratives and content tailored to different user personas and use cases, from data professionals to automation builders and AI agent developers.
- Work with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Developer Relations to align launches, updates, and campaigns around clear value propositions.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the web scraping, automation, AI agents, and API product landscape to ensure messaging stays accurate and relevant.
- Prioritize initiatives based on impact and feasibility, focusing on the small number of actions that will move key growth metrics.
- Act as the voice of the Store in internal discussions, translating data and user insights into recommendations that the company can act on.
Requirements
- 5+ years in product marketing or a related user-side role, ideally where you have owned a chunk of the funnel from awareness to conversion.
- You have experience growing an e-commerce shop, marketplace, or app store and know how to improve discovery, conversion, retention, and repeat usage.
- You can deconstruct a marketplace to understand what drives individual product success and turn those insights into campaigns that help users find and start using the right options.
- You turn data into clear next actions, knowing which metrics matter for marketplace growth and how to set up tracking and reporting frameworks.
- You pick a focused set of priorities that will move Apify Store growth and you execute on them end-to-end.
- You can manage multiple campaigns at once while collaborating effectively with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Developer Relations.
- You write and speak English clearly and confidently, with the ability to translate complex ideas into simple, persuasive messages.
- Familiarity with web scraping, automation, AI agents, or API products is a strong plus that will help you communicate more effectively with developers and builders.
Nice to have
- Experience with marketplaces, app stores, or e-commerce platforms where you have directly influenced metrics such as conversion, retention, and repeat purchase.
- A background in web scraping, data infrastructure, or developer tools that helps you understand the needs of Actor creators and users.
- Familiarity with AI agents, automation workflows, and API products, and an understanding of how these tools are marketed and sold.
- Experience running marketing campaigns, managing content, and coordinating cross-functional product launches in a fast-paced environment.
