Head of APAC Accounting

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a regional accounting leader to establish and manage our corporate finance operations across the Asia Pacific region. This role involves building a scalable control environment, overseeing statutory reporting, and integrating AI tools like Claude into our financial workflows. You will report to the Head of International Accounting in Dublin and serve as the primary finance contact for regional boards and external partners.

What you'll do

• Manage end-to-end corporate accounting, including month-end close, consolidation, and financial reporting for all APAC entities.
• Oversee statutory filings, local audits, and corporate secretarial requirements while maintaining relationships with external auditors.
• Direct regional payroll, procure-to-pay, and intercompany/transfer pricing operations in coordination with global teams.
• Build and lead a high-performing regional team, defining organizational structure and hiring plans.
• Partner with global finance systems to deploy and improve our core platform stack.
• Implement internal control frameworks and drive automation using AI to ensure audit readiness.
• Collaborate with tax and treasury on regional compliance, cash management, and capital repatriation.
• Support the launch of new legal entities across the region by coordinating with legal, tax, and operations teams.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years serving as a regional or group controller for a global or US-based multinational.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, or ACCA.
• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP and IFRS, plus working knowledge of APAC regulatory and statutory frameworks.
• Demonstrated success in building and managing multi-country finance teams.
• Proficiency in enterprise ERP systems like NetSuite, Workday Financials, SAP, or Oracle.
• Experience managing statutory audits and at least one of the following: international payroll, procure-to-pay, or finance systems.

Nice to have

• Experience launching accounting functions from the ground up at high-growth technology firms.
• Background in internal controls transformation programs.
• Expertise in APAC-specific equity compensation and international payroll.
• Prior experience as a regional business owner for ERP or finance system implementations.
• Established professional network within Big 4 or regional advisory firms.
