What you'll do

Conduct comprehensive site assessments to evaluate environmental conditions and identify contamination sources.
Develop and implement restoration plans that comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Collaborate with project managers, scientists, and other engineers to design effective remediation strategies.
Utilize advanced modeling software to predict the outcomes of various restoration techniques.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Engage with clients and regulatory agencies to ensure project alignment with environmental standards.
Monitor and analyze data from remediation efforts to assess effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
Participate in fieldwork, including soil and water sampling, to gather essential data for project development.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in environmental restoration.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and interns within the team.
Assist in the preparation of proposals and bids for new projects, showcasing your technical expertise.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of company processes and methodologies in restoration engineering.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental restoration or remediation projects.
Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance standards.
Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for modeling and data analysis.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information.

Nice to have

Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
Experience with GIS software and its application in environmental assessments.
Familiarity with ecological restoration practices and methodologies.
Previous experience working with government agencies or regulatory bodies.
Knowledge of sustainable practices and innovative technologies in environmental engineering.

Skills & tools

Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and environmental modeling tools.
Familiarity with data analysis software such as Excel, R, or Python for environmental data interpretation.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in both fieldwork and documentation.
