What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications that support our intellectual property management solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and provide constructive feedback to junior developers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in existing applications, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Participate in Agile development processes, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software design, development processes, and user manuals.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain competitive and innovative.
• Collaborate with QA engineers to develop and execute test plans, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software.
• Optimize application performance through profiling and tuning, addressing bottlenecks and enhancing user experience.
• Engage in architectural discussions and contribute to the overall technical direction of the product.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Java development, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Proficiency in Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate, with experience in building RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly SQL, and experience with database design and optimization.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is highly desirable.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and experience with deploying applications in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools, enhancing the quality assurance process.
• Understanding of security best practices in software development and experience implementing secure coding techniques.
• Previous experience in the intellectual property or legal technology sector would be an advantage.
