About the role
Altruist is seeking an experienced Event Marketing Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of marketing events that directly support the company's strategic growth objectives. This role is based in Los Angeles and involves close coordination with cross-functional teams across marketing, sales, and product departments to deliver impactful, memorable experiences for attendees. The manager will own the full end-to-end lifecycle of event campaigns, from initial concept development and budgeting through final execution and thorough post-event analysis. The position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining attention to every detail.

What you'll do
- Plan and coordinate marketing events from concept development through final execution and follow-up activities.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts with external partners to secure favorable terms.
- Develop event budgets and monitor spending to ensure all activities stay within allocated funds.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align event strategies with broader company messaging goals.
- Oversee logistics including venue selection, catering, audio-visual setup, and on-site event operations.
- Create detailed event timelines and project plans to keep all stakeholders informed of progress.
- Lead a team of event coordinators and provide guidance on day-to-day task management.
- Analyze post-event data and prepare reports that measure attendee engagement and return on investment.
- Represent Altruist at industry conferences and trade shows to increase brand visibility and awareness.
- Coordinate promotional campaigns tied to each event, including email outreach and social media content.
- Coordinate with external speakers and panelists to confirm availability, topics, and logistical needs for each event.
- Maintain a centralized event calendar and ensure all team members have access to current schedules and updates.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in event marketing or a similar role.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing events with budgets exceeding fifty thousand dollars.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines at once.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including sales, product, and design departments.
- Ability to travel as needed, including occasional overnight trips for multi-day events.
- High level of organizational aptitude with meticulous attention to detail and follow-through.
- Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts that align with organizational standards and expectations.
- Comfortable working with diverse audiences and adapting event formats to suit different cultural and demographic contexts.
