We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our Credit and Lending team. In this role, you will lead an engineering team and partner closely with cross-functional leaders to build and launch a brand-new product from the ground up. You will own the end to end delivery of a critical product line that directly supports our mission of making financial advice better, more affordable, and accessible to all. You will drive technical strategy, foster innovation, and ensure that your team delivers world class solutions at speed. Your work will have a direct impact on how financial advisors serve their clients and shape the future of the industry.

What you'll do

Collaborate with product management and design teams to understand business needs, growth objectives, and market dynamics for new credit and lending offerings.

Create a culture of innovation and technical excellence, encouraging experimentation and exploring new opportunities for company growth in the lending domain.

Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, automation, tools, and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and quality across the credit and lending stack.

Provide strong leadership to the engineering team, enabling a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement in all delivery phases.

Set clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics for the engineering teams, holding individuals accountable for their deliverables and outcomes.

Own the full product lifecycle from discovery and requirements through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization of lending features.

Partner with cross functional stakeholders including risk, compliance, design, and data to ensure alignment and successful execution of lending products.

Champion modern software practices including microservices, resilient architectures, and cloud native patterns to support scalable lending solutions.

Monitor and improve system reliability, performance, and security of lending platforms to ensure robust and compliant financial services.

Mentor engineers, facilitate career growth, and build an inclusive, high performing team that embodies the values of kindness, brilliance, and grit.

Lead agile ceremonies and remove blockers to ensure the team can focus on delivering high quality software on schedule.

Establish feedback loops with customers and internal stakeholders to inform product decisions and drive iterative enhancements.

Implement observability and monitoring strategies to gain insights into lending workflows and proactively address issues.

Champion testing standards and quality practices to reduce defects and increase confidence in production releases.

Promote data driven decision making by leveraging analytics and insights to refine lending workflows and user experiences.

Requirements

You have 3+ years of experience working as Software Engineering Manager within a high performing Engineering organization.

You bring 8+ years of experience in software development and delivery owning a highly visible and large technical scope and an in-depth knowledge of software architectures.

You have experience building and managing large scale software applications in a fast paced, high growth environment.

You hold a B.A. / B.S. degree in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

You are technologically savvy and can easily get up to speed on modern tech stacks including Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS, Postgres, Kafka, and Kubernetes.
