About the role
The Research Compliance Associate operates at the intersection of legal rigor and operational execution within a dynamic, external and internal-facing function that supports the growth of the company's fastest-expanding business segments worldwide. You will report directly to the Research Compliance Manager, who is based in New York, and work in close collaboration with Legal, Client Protection, Research, and other key business stakeholders to uphold the integrity of every engagement. This position grants a high degree of autonomy in day-to-day responsibilities and is specifically designed for a self-starter seeking to gain legal and operations experience while observing the inner workings of a fast-moving global enterprise. What you'll do
- Execute the review of expert profiles and project requirements to ensure the delivery of accurate expert knowledge to clients, safeguarding the integrity of every engagement.
- Perform meticulous formatting, thorough proofreading, and rigorous screening of all written output, including transcripts, to confirm strict compliance with relevant laws and AlphaSights' legal and compliance policies.
- Resolve compliance flags in partnership with the Research team and other internal stakeholders, driving efficient problem-solving and maintaining project momentum.
- Deliver legal and compliance training to research personnel and partners, fostering a shared understanding of policies and regulatory expectations across the organization.
- Draft and maintain comprehensive compliance policies for research services, ensuring documentation remains current, clear, and operationally effective.
- Manage the intake of expert materials and coordinate workflows so that knowledge moves efficiently through production from initiation to completion.
- Shape review cycles, own the final review gate, and coordinate the shipment of compliant transcripts to ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards.
- Support the construction of robust review checklists that safeguard output accuracy and policy adherence while aligning research partners to meet legal standards.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across teams to ensure that finalized materials are delivered on schedule and in strict accordance with company requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying operational bottlenecks and proposing solutions that enhance the quality and efficiency of compliance processes.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree with strong academic credentials in any discipline and noteworthy extracurricular leadership is required for this position. Candidates must hold 0-1 years of work experience, with preference given to backgrounds in law, risk management, consulting, operations, or compliance to ensure a solid foundation for the role. A demonstrated track record of strong academic performance is essential, with a minimum GPA of 3.5, reflecting consistent dedication to excellence. Extracurricular achievements throughout school and university should be evident, showcasing initiative, teamwork, and leadership capabilities. Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory to perform core duties effectively, while fluency in a relevant foreign language is a plus that can enhance team collaboration. Individuals must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for this role at this time, ensuring compliance with employment regulations. This position requires a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all company policies and legal requirements. Additional experience in delivering training or developing procedural documentation is considered a plus for this position. Exposure to project management tools or methodologies can further support effective coordination and delivery of compliance objectives.
Practical notes
This is a full-time position based in New York with standard office hours. The office is a prime midtown location with state-of-the-art amenities, including the option to work from home each Friday and four additional days per quarter to support work-life balance. Winter 2027 start dates are currently available for this role. The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship at this time. Travel is not required for this position, ensuring a stable and predictable work arrangement for the successful candidate.
