In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in supporting our global business initiatives by navigating a variety of legal issues and working closely with both internal teams and external partners. What you'll do

• Negotiate and finalize agreements with both vendors and clients to ensure favorable terms and compliance with legal standards.
• Collaborate with client services and external legal teams to promote secure knowledge sharing practices that align with legal guidelines.
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal risk management policies to safeguard the organization against potential legal challenges.
• Create and deliver training sessions focused on compliance and legal issues for staff members to enhance their understanding of legal responsibilities.
• Provide expert legal counsel on a variety of topics, including data privacy, intellectual property rights, technology law, taxation, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct thorough legal research to support decision-making processes and risk assessments across the organization.
• Assist in the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts, ensuring that all agreements meet legal requirements and protect the company's interests.
• Work closely with senior leadership to provide strategic legal advice that aligns with the company's business objectives and operational needs.
• Manage multiple legal projects concurrently, ensuring that all deadlines are met without compromising quality.
• Influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to foster a culture of legal awareness and compliance.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company's operations and advise accordingly.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
• At least 3 years of legal experience at a prestigious U.S. law firm, with a focus on corporate law.
• Must hold a valid license to practice law in New York State.
• Proven ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong capacity to offer strategic, commercially-focused legal advice to senior executives.
• Demonstrated proficiency in both transactional and non-transactional legal matters.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to persuade and influence stakeholders across various levels of the organization.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts is advantageous.
• A background in litigation or arbitration would be beneficial.
• Familiarity with securities law, regulatory issues, or corporate governance is a plus.

Practical notes

• The salary range for this position is between $150,000 and $200,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
• Employees are entitled to 20 vacation days annually, in addition to 10 public holidays, and the office will be closed during the winter holiday season.
