What you'll do

• Lead and manage all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
• Develop and implement operational strategies that enhance productivity and efficiency while reducing costs.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards, fostering a culture of safety among all employees.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize resource allocation and streamline processes across the plant.
• Manage and mentor a diverse team of supervisors and operators, providing guidance and support to promote professional development.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
• Prepare and manage the plant budget, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
• Liaise with senior management to report on plant performance, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
• Implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge related to plant operations and safety protocols.
• Foster strong relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in plant management or a similar role within the mining or mineral processing industry.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
• Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations in the mining sector.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in using plant management software and tools for reporting and analysis.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing conditions.

Nice to have

• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
• Knowledge of environmental management systems and sustainability practices in mining.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to mining operations in West Africa.
• Previous experience working in an international or multicultural environment.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and plant management software.
• Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and quality assurance methodologies.
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems (MMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
• Ability to analyze data and generate reports to inform strategic decisions.

• This position is based in Abidjan, and candidates should be prepared for occasional travel to other sites as required.
