About the role
You will architect and ship the next generation of growth initiatives that define how users interact with Algolia from first visit to long term adoption. You will partner tightly with product and design to run high impact experiments that validate hypotheses and move core business metrics. You will build and maintain scalable internal platforms that empower analysts and engineers to launch new features with speed and confidence. You will mentor engineers across the organization, elevating code quality and establishing best practices for the growth stack. You will own the reliability and performance of critical growth workflows, ensuring a seamless experience for our customers. You will leverage event driven infrastructure to capture insights and drive data informed product decisions. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver end to end solutions that accelerate user onboarding and retention.

What you'll do
Define and own the roadmap for the Growth organization, translating business objectives into technical deliverables that scale.
Design and implement experiments and A/B tests, analyzing results to select the optimal solution and inform product decisions.
Collaborate with product managers and designers to discover opportunities, challenge assumptions, and shape the user experience of Algolia.
Mentor software engineers by providing code reviews, career guidance, and leadership to foster a high performing engineering culture.
Architect and build a scalable growth platform that centralizes analytics, experimentation, and configuration for rapid iteration.
Partner with cross functional teams including marketing, sales, and customer success to deliver integrated solutions that support business growth.
Establish and improve engineering quality, processes, and tooling to increase velocity and reduce operational risk.
Define and communicate the technical roadmap for the growth team, prioritizing initiatives based on impact and feasibility.
Implement robust event tracking and data pipelines to enable analysis and decision making across the entire customer journey.
Evaluate and adopt new technologies, balancing innovation with the need for stability and maintainability in production systems.
Champion best practices in software engineering, including testing, documentation, and deployment automation.
Own key integrations with external platforms, ensuring reliable data flow and a consistent developer experience.
Monitor system performance and reliability, driving improvements that enhance user trust and engagement.
Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications that guide execution across the organization.
Requirements
You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
You have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a proven track record of delivering production grade systems.
You are proficient in at least one server side language such as Ruby or Go, with the ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.
You have strong experience with JavaScript and TypeScript, and are capable of writing production frontend code using React and related libraries.
You have worked with event driven architectures on platforms such as GCP or AWS, designing systems that are scalable and observable.
You understand database concepts and have hands on experience with both relational and NoSQL data stores.
You have experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with third party services in a secure and reliable manner.
You are comfortable working in a fast paced environment where priorities can change based on data and stakeholder input.
You communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, and enjoy collaborating with cross functional partners.
You are passionate about data driven decision making and can analyze the impact of changes using quantitative methods.
You have a strong sense of ownership and are proactive in identifying problems and proposing solutions.
You are comfortable with version control using Git and have experience managing complex codebases.
You have experience writing tests and implementing monitoring to ensure system reliability and correctness.
Nice to have
Experience working in a scale-up or growth focused environment where experimentation drives decisions.
Experience with analytics platforms such as Amplitude or Heap, and tools like Looker or Hex for data analysis.
Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives in a collaborative setting.

This is a full time position based in the United States.
