About the role
The Solutions Engineer serves as a critical technical partner within the go-to-market engine of Algolia, operating at the intersection of product expertise and revenue generation. This individual owns the end-to-end technical validation of customer requirements, ensuring that Algolia's AI Search platform aligns precisely with complex enterprise needs. They act as the primary technical advocate during high-stakes discovery sessions, architecting compelling demonstrations that directly address the stated goals of prospects and current accounts. The role demands fluent navigation between high-level executive conversations and deep technical integrations, translating business outcomes into tangible product fit. Collaboration is core to this position, as the Solutions Engineer interfaces daily with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to close the loop between customer feedback and roadmap execution. They are expected to become a thought leader in search and discovery, contributing content and insights that elevate Algolia's market presence. Ultimately, this position is accountable for de-risking sales cycles by proving technical viability and accelerating customer adoption from evaluation through successful deployment.

What you'll do
- Partner with Sales Teams and prospects to evaluate and adopt Algolia solutions through consultative technical engagements.
- Conduct in-depth technical discovery sessions to uncover customer objectives and map them to the capabilities of the Algolia platform.
- Lead the design and delivery of technical demonstrations, Proof of Concepts (POC), and tailored architecture proposals for complex opportunities.
- Analyze RFP documentation and customer requirements to generate precise technical responses and solution designs.
- Serve as the primary technical communicator, articulating product architecture and integration pathways to both technical and executive audiences.
- Leverage the Algolia ecosystem, including frameworks, partners, and tooling, to validate functional fit and accelerate solution design.
- Synthesize customer feedback, needs, and strategic interests into actionable product insights for Product and Engineering teams.
- Continuously expand knowledge of search, discovery, and AI-driven search trends to maintain thought leadership in the industry.
- Collaborate closely with Solution Architects and Customer Success Managers to ensure a seamless transition from sales to onboarding.
- Champion the customer perspective across internal initiatives to influence product development and technical enablement.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail while managing multiple concurrent customer engagements with varying priorities.
- Drive adoption by removing technical barriers and providing clear, compelling narratives around product value and ROI.
- Act as an ambassador of best practices, guiding customers toward successful implementation and long-term success with Algolia.
- Contribute to the creation of technical content that demystifies complex concepts for diverse buyer personas.
- Support the revenue objectives of the company by enabling faster, more confident sales cycles.
Requirements
- Bring a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, consultant, or Product Manager, with a preference for SaaS backgrounds.
- Demonstrate fluency in Portuguese, with Spanish recognized as a valuable and complementary skill in the global marketplace.
- Possess prior software development experience across one or more technical domains including front-end technologies like JavaScript and TypeScript, as well as frameworks such as React.
- Apply foundational knowledge of back-end systems and languages such as Java, Ruby, Go, Node.js, Python, and Swift or Objective-C.
- Exhibit strong competence in handling data formats and performing data transformation operations within software workflows.
- Communicate with exceptional clarity and persuasiveness in both oral and written formats across diverse audiences.
- Display superior organizational capabilities, enabling effective management of multiple customer relationships simultaneously.
- Show a proven ability to rapidly switch context while maintaining a high level of attention to detail under competing demands.
- Obsess over solving customer problems with a relentless focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions.
- Thrive in environments operating at the current stage of growth, characterized by revenues in the $150-300M+ ARR range and significant internal infrastructure development.
