What you'll do
- Design and implement automated security solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of security operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify security needs and develop automation strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Conduct thorough assessments of existing security processes to identify areas for improvement and automation opportunities.
- Develop and maintain scripts and tools that automate security monitoring, incident response, and compliance reporting.
- Monitor security alerts and incidents, utilizing automation to streamline response efforts and reduce manual intervention.
- Create and maintain documentation related to automated security processes, ensuring clarity and accessibility for team members.
- Participate in security audits and assessments, providing automation insights to improve overall security posture.
- Stay updated on the latest security trends, tools, and technologies to continuously enhance automation practices.
- Provide training and support to team members on the use of automated security tools and processes.
- Assist in the development of security policies and procedures that incorporate automation best practices.
- Collaborate with software development teams to integrate security automation into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Engage with external vendors and partners to evaluate and implement third-party security automation solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in security engineering or a related role, with a focus on automation.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Experience with security tools and platforms, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability management systems.
- Familiarity with cloud security principles and automation tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Terraform).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS) and their implications for security automation.
Nice to have
- Experience with DevSecOps practices and tools for integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with container security and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
- Knowledge of machine learning applications in security automation.
- Experience with incident response and threat hunting methodologies.
