About the role
Join Agoda's Global Payroll team in Bangkok to help manage international payroll processes. This role focuses on ensuring accurate and timely payroll for employees worldwide, adhering to local laws and regulations. You will report to the Payroll Manager and contribute to a world-class global payroll system. The successful candidate will own the end-to-end execution of payroll for a portfolio of countries, ensuring compliance and operational excellence. You will be responsible for driving process standardization across multiple jurisdictions while maintaining a high level of accuracy and integrity. This position requires a proactive approach to managing complex payroll workflows and vendor relationships. You will play a key role in supporting the People Team's global compensation strategies. The role offers exposure to a diverse range of international employment regulations and practices.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Execute monthly payroll cycles by gathering and validating inputs and outputs for assigned countries.
- Coordinate with external payroll providers to ensure timely execution of payments and statutory filings.
- Monitor vendor performance to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and service level agreements.
- Address payroll related inquiries from internal stakeholders and provide clear, accurate guidance.
- Participate in the implementation of new processes and system enhancements through user testing.
- Lead migration activities and manage integrations during vendor or system transitions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to define and document payroll procedures for new countries and systems.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation and data for external and internal audit requests.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all payroll activities comply with local tax, social security, and employment legislation.
- Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Support the rollout of payroll policies and controls to mitigate operational risks.
- Liaise with finance and HR partners to reconcile payroll data and resolve variances.
- Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the payroll function.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in any academic field.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in People Operations or full-cycle payroll.
- Have experience within a fast-paced, international operating environment.
- Demonstrate prior experience managing payroll operations in the APAC region.
- Show a proven track record in managing payroll migration and integration projects.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English.
- Apply excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to complex payroll issues.
- Maintain a meticulous attention to detail in all deliverables and processes.
- Have a history of implementing process improvements or automation initiatives.
- Be proficient in using all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
