About the role
The AI Research and Development Group at Agile Robots is seeking an intern to assist external partners and clients in deploying AI features on our robotic arm platforms. You will work alongside our staff to resolve technical inquiries, maintain support documentation, and validate reference applications. In this capacity, you will serve as a primary technical contact for partners testing new AI integrations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our external collaborators can effectively utilize the capabilities of our robotic systems. This position offers direct exposure to the challenges of real-world AI deployment in robotics. You will contribute to the refinement of our support processes and the improvement of the overall user experience. Your work will help bridge the gap between advanced AI research and practical implementation in industrial settings.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Provide guidance to customers and partners as they implement AI functions on our robotic hardware, walking them through each step of the integration process.
- Identify and diagnose technical problems reported by users, isolating root causes and escalating complex issues to senior staff when necessary.
- Create and update documentation regarding common troubleshooting steps and resolutions to assist internal and external stakeholders in resolving issues independently.
- Conduct testing on reference applications and software pipelines to ensure functionality, stability, and performance before deployment to production environments.
- Translate technical concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical partners and clients, removing jargon and explaining functionality in plain terms.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to reproduce reported issues and verify fixes, ensuring that solutions are robust and thoroughly validated.
- Maintain a detailed log of support interactions and resolutions to build a comprehensive knowledge base for future reference and training.
- Assist in the development of step-by-step implementation guides for new AI features, ensuring that instructions are precise and easy to follow.
- Monitor the performance of deployed AI models in partner environments, gathering feedback to inform potential improvements or adjustments.
- Support the organization of virtual or on-site workshops and demonstration sessions to help partners gain proficiency with new tools and capabilities.
- Act as a liaison between the technical team and partner organizations, ensuring that communication remains clear and expectations are well aligned.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing support materials and propose revisions or new content based on emerging patterns in partner inquiries.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a Master degree program focused on Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, with a strong academic record.
- Working knowledge of Python, specifically the ability to review code and replicate user environments for debugging and testing purposes.
- Strong English communication skills for explaining technical topics to external parties, including written documentation and verbal explanations.
- Foundational understanding of robot arm control systems, including the integration of sensors and actuators with software to achieve desired movements.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple support requests simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with basic software development practices, including version control, issue tracking, and collaborative workflows.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive technical information with professionalism and care.
- Willingness to adhere to Agile Robots' internal processes, documentation standards, and communication protocols during all support activities.
- Availability to work from the Munich headquarters on a full-time basis during the specified internship period, with flexibility to accommodate team schedules.
- Readiness to learn new tools and technologies quickly, applying analytical skills to solve unfamiliar problems in a dynamic environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with physics simulation software such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or MuJoCo, allowing for virtual testing of robotic behaviors.
- Familiarity with ROS or ROS2 frameworks, including topics like nodes, topics, services, and parameter management.
- Previous experience in roles involving teaching, customer support, or partner relations, demonstrating strong interpersonal abilities.
