What you'll do

• Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand project requirements and specifications.
• Design and execute test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Identify, document, and track defects using our issue tracking system, ensuring timely resolution.
• Perform regression testing to verify that new features do not adversely affect existing functionality.
• Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint planning meetings to provide updates on testing progress and challenges.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency.
• Conduct exploratory testing to uncover potential issues that may not be captured by automated tests.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies within the team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate smooth integration of software components.
• Prepare detailed test reports and metrics to communicate testing outcomes to stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in quality assurance and testing.
• Provide support and training to new team members as needed to foster a collaborative learning environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in software testing or quality assurance, preferably in a professional setting.
• Familiarity with testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Basic understanding of programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience with test management tools and bug tracking systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development.

Nice to have

• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium or JUnit.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and practices.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Understanding of web technologies and APIs.
• Previous experience in a tech company or startup environment.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in using test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail) for tracking test cases and defects.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Basic knowledge of SQL for database testing and validation.
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
