What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities in systems and applications.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Monitor network traffic and system logs to detect and respond to security incidents in real-time.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into the software development lifecycle.
- Design and execute penetration tests to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security controls.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on security awareness and best practices to foster a culture of security within the organization.
- Investigate security breaches and incidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Stay updated on the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve the organization's security posture.
- Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure minimal disruption in case of a security incident.
- Participate in security-related projects and initiatives, contributing to the overall improvement of the security framework.
- Collaborate with external vendors and partners to ensure that third-party services meet security requirements.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management on security metrics, incidents, and improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in information security or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS.
- Proficiency in security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability scanners.
- Experience with cloud security practices and technologies, particularly in AWS or Azure environments.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ for scripting and automation purposes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant security certifications, such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM, are highly desirable.
Nice to have
- Experience in incident response and forensics, with a track record of managing security incidents.
- Knowledge of compliance regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS, and their implications for security practices.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools to integrate security into the development process.
- Experience with threat hunting and intelligence to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Understanding of network protocols and architectures, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPNs.
