About the role
Acino is on a mission to lead the charge in sustainable practices within the pharmaceutical industry, and we are seeking a Decarb Leader to spearhead our decarbonization initiatives. This pivotal role will focus on developing and implementing strategies that significantly reduce our carbon footprint while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across various departments to drive innovation and promote a culture of sustainability within the organization.

What you'll do
- Develop and execute a comprehensive decarbonization strategy that aligns with Acino's sustainability goals and targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain, to identify opportunities for carbon reduction across operations.
- Monitor and report on progress towards decarbonization goals, utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct thorough assessments of current practices and technologies to identify gaps and recommend innovative solutions for reducing emissions.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry groups, and sustainability organizations, to stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in decarbonization.
- Lead training sessions and workshops to educate employees about sustainability initiatives and the importance of reducing carbon emissions.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and future strategies related to decarbonization efforts.
- Foster a culture of sustainability within the organization by promoting initiatives that encourage employee engagement and participation in decarbonization activities.
- Stay informed about global climate policies and regulations that may impact Acino's operations and sustainability commitments.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to effectively communicate Acino's decarbonization efforts to external audiences, enhancing the company's reputation as a leader in sustainability.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities for sustainability projects, including grants and partnerships with other organizations focused on environmental impact.
- Analyze and interpret data related to carbon emissions and sustainability metrics to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or a related field, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful decarbonization strategies or sustainability programs.
- Strong understanding of carbon accounting methodologies and sustainability reporting frameworks.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, as well as experience with sustainability reporting platforms.
Nice to have
- Certification in sustainability or environmental management (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001).
- Experience working in a global or multi-national organization, with an understanding of diverse regulatory environments.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and their application in reducing carbon emissions.
- Familiarity with life cycle assessment (LCA) methodologies and tools.
Skills & tools
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data visualization tools.
- Experience with sustainability software and platforms for tracking emissions and reporting.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, or similar).
- Ability to conduct effective presentations and workshops.
