About the role
You will be the primary external sales representative for A Place for Mom, acting as the face of the brand within your assigned geographic territory. This role owns the end to end sales process with hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and directly with families experiencing discharge. You are accountable for generating and converting qualified leads into move-ins or home care placements on a monthly basis. The position requires a high level of ownership over your book of accounts and the consistent execution of outreach plans. You will build genuine, trust based relationships with healthcare professionals through persistent and empathetic communication. Success in this role demands a strategic approach to managing a pipeline while maintaining strict follow up discipline. You will be expected to test new methods and provide feedback that shapes the tools used by the entire sales organization.

What you'll do
Work in a fast-paced, growing industry to help families and professional referral sources with seniors urgently needing to be discharged into a community meeting their needs or with a home care agency as they transition out of a hospital or skilled nursing facility.
Deliver on your target quota of families selecting a senior care option each month by generating daily qualified patient referrals from your assigned market plan accounts.
Currently maintains a portfolio of clients (social worker, case managers, and discharger planners) specifically in hospitals and skilled nursing centers within this open territory.
Develop, own, and grow your book of accounts to increase referral volume in your territory through consistent engagement.
Cultivate new contacts within each account through networking, cold calls, and service presentations, following up with each referral source on discharge outcomes to reinforce the value A Place for Mom delivers.
Educate families on their care options and how they will work with you and a Healthcare Senior Living Advisor to find the right senior living option as they are discharged from acute care settings.
Work with your partner Healthcare Senior Living Advisors to deliver on your target quota of families in moving into a community or hiring in home care, ensuring a coordinated approach.
Leverage and analyze reports in our CRM and internal structure to develop and manage your pipeline with accurate forecasting.
Pilot new initiatives, tests, and processes such as account scoring and CRM changes in your territory and provide feedback to improve the tools and resources at your disposal.
Maintain a disciplined schedule of daily activities, aligning your field efforts with the strategic priorities of your Regional Director.
Present regularly to target customers, articulating the A Place for Mom value proposition in a clear and compelling manner.
Overcome objections by listening actively and responding with tailored solutions that address the specific concerns of healthcare professionals and families.
Utilize time management techniques to prioritize high impact activities that drive move-ins and referral growth.
Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless experience for referral partners and patients transitioning into care.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred.
3-5 years of outside sales experience as an individual contributor with exceptional prospecting and lead generation abilities.
Knowledge of the Senior Living Industry is required for success in this role.
Hospital and skilled nursing facility sales experience is mandatory.
You have a proven track record of exceeding sales quotas and collaborating with other teams to achieve those results.
You must be relationship driven with a strategic mindset that balances short term wins with long term growth.
Successful candidates have demonstrated experience in presenting to target customers and overcoming objections in high pressure settings.
You thrive in a fast-paced, change infused, independent environment with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the job done.
A strong competitive approach drives your desire to learn, improve, and outperform against personal and team benchmarks.
You are expected to travel daily into the accounts in your territory during the 5-day business week, conducting activities locally.
Strong communication skills are required when interacting with both internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Effective time management skills are essential to balance multiple opportunities and deadlines.
You must be technologically focused and proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, and a CRM, with Salesforce preferred.
Practical notes
This role operates in a field based structure where daily engagement with healthcare facilities is required.
Expected travel is local within the Dayton, OH area during the standard five day business week.
Compensation includes a base salary and uncapped OTE, with comprehensive benefits aligned with the company structure.
