About the role
You will be the primary external sales representative for A Place for Mom, acting as the face of the brand within your assigned geographic territory. This role owns the end-to-end sales process with hospitals and skilled nursing facilities, directly interfacing with clinical and administrative leadership to build strategic partnerships. You are accountable for translating the A Place for Mom value proposition to both referral sources and discharging families, ensuring they understand the breadth of care options available. The position requires a high-energy individual who thrives on building consultative relationships rather than executing simple transactions. You will leverage data and feedback to refine your approach and continuously optimize the performance of your book of accounts. Success in this role demands a proactive mindset to identify new business opportunities where they naturally exist within the healthcare ecosystem. You will work in collaboration with internal Healthcare Senior Living Advisors to ensure a seamless handoff and consistent experience for every family. Ultimately, this role is responsible for driving sustainable growth and ensuring that A Place for Mom remains the trusted resource for senior care transitions in your market.

What you'll do
Work in a fast-paced, growing industry to help families and professional referral sources with seniors urgently needing to be discharged into a community meeting their needs or with a home care agency as they transition out of a hospital or skilled nursing facility.
Deliver on your target quota of families selecting a senior care option each month by generating daily qualified patient referrals from your assigned market plan accounts.
Currently maintains a portfolio of clients (social worker, case managers, and discharger planners) specifically in hospitals and skilled nursing centers within this open territory.
Develop, own, and grow your book of accounts to increase referral volume in your territory through strategic networking and relationship management.
Cultivate new contacts within each account through networking, cold calls, and service presentations, following up with each referral source on discharge outcomes to reinforce the value A Place for Mom delivers.
Educate families on their care options and how they will work with you and a Healthcare Senior Living Advisor to find the right senior living option as they are discharged from medical facilities.
Work with your partner Healthcare Senior Living Advisors to deliver on your target quota of families in moving into a community or hiring in home care, ensuring alignment on strategy and messaging.
Leverage and analyze reports in our CRM and internal structure to develop and actively manage a robust pipeline of opportunities and forecast accuracy.
Pilot new initiatives, tests, and processes such as account scoring or CRM enhancements in your territory and provide actionable feedback to improve the tools and resources available to you.
Maintain a deep understanding of the senior living industry and specific knowledge of hospital and skilled nursing facility operations to effectively engage stakeholders.
Demonstrate a proven ability to exceed sales quotas by building strong relationships and collaborating effectively with internal cross-functional teams.
Utilize strong communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, from clinical staff to executive leadership.
Employ effective time management skills to prioritize activities and manage a high volume of contacts and opportunities in a dynamic environment.
Remain technologically focused and proficient in standard office software, including Microsoft Office and Google Sheets, as well as fluent in using a CRM platform, with Salesforce experience being highly preferred.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred as a foundation for professional growth and communication.
Possess 3-5 years of outside sales experience as an individual contributor with exceptional prospecting and lead generation abilities.
Have knowledge of the Senior Living Industry to understand the nuances of care options and regulatory environments.
Bring hospital or skilled nursing facility sales experience to navigate complex organizational buying processes.
Show a proven track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas while working collaboratively with other teams to achieve shared goals.
Must be relationship driven with a strategic mindset, focusing on long-term partnerships rather than short-term gains.
Successfully demonstrated experience in presenting to target customers and overcoming objections with professionalism and data.

Expected to travel daily into the accounts in your territory during the 5-day business week (locally) to maintain presence and build rapport.
