9fin is on the lookout for a Senior Product Analyst who will play a pivotal role in steering product development by converting behavioral data into meaningful insights. This position encompasses the full spectrum of product analytics, from the initial setup of data instrumentation to delivering critical insights that influence the product strategy. You will work in close collaboration with a fellow product analyst and analytics engineers to guarantee the reliability of data and its impact on decision-making.

What you'll do
- Establish, implement, and uphold North Star Metrics for various product teams, guiding them from the initial definition phase to the creation of dbt models and Omni dashboards.
- Develop and oversee product data models utilizing dbt, ensuring that data remains reliable and that a trusted semantic layer is established within Omni.
- Manage product instrumentation by crafting event taxonomies, embedding tracking specifications, and reconciling both front-end and backend events.
- Evaluate feature performance by measuring adoption, retention, and activation rates using tools such as Amplitude, SQL, and Omni, and provide actionable recommendations based on your findings.
- Collaborate with product teams during the discovery and planning phases, defining success metrics, assessing opportunities, and converting inquiries into data-driven decisions.
- Address ad-hoc inquiries related to usage, segmentation, funnels, and data quality for a range of stakeholders.
- Link product usage to commercial outcomes by analyzing account- and seat-level data to identify signals of account health and product-qualified accounts.
- Create a scalable framework for experimentation and causal inference, employing methodologies like Bayesian readouts, holdouts, and quasi-experiments.
- Utilize predictive modeling techniques to assess churn and expansion propensity, informing both commercial and product strategies.
- Assess and enhance the quality of AI products, focusing on resolution rates, feedback loops, cost-per-query, and retention specific to AI applications.
Requirements
- Proven experience in product analytics, ideally within a B2B SaaS or fintech environment, with a track record of influencing product outcomes.
- Advanced SQL capabilities for conducting complex analyses, optimizing processes, and creating reusable datasets.
- Practical experience with dbt and a cloud data warehouse (such as BigQuery or Snowflake) for building and maintaining production-level models.
- Strong familiarity with modern product analytics platforms like Amplitude (or Mixpanel), including expertise in event taxonomy design and behavioral analysis.
- Experience with contemporary BI tools and integrated semantic layers (such as Omni, Looker, or Thoughtspot) for creating self-service dashboards and defining metrics.
- Ability to define and manage core product metrics, ensuring their accuracy and reliability across various teams.
- Excellent communication skills to distill complex analyses into clear narratives suitable for both executives and operational teams.
- Strategic problem-solving skills with the independence to address ambiguous, high-impact challenges and enhance data processes.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in Python for advanced analysis and modeling (including libraries like pandas and numpy, as well as basic machine learning).
- Experience in correlating product usage with commercial outcomes.
- Familiarity with measuring the performance of AI and LLM products.
