About the role
As a Parts Advisor at Peterborough Hyundai, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our service department operates smoothly and efficiently. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the inventory of automotive parts, providing exceptional customer service to both internal teams and external customers. What you'll do
- Assist customers and technicians in identifying the correct automotive parts needed for various repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Maintain an organized inventory of parts, ensuring that stock levels are adequate to meet demand and that all items are properly labeled and stored.
- Process orders for parts and accessories, including receiving shipments, checking for accuracy, and updating inventory records accordingly.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries, addressing concerns, and offering recommendations based on customer needs.
- Collaborate with the service department to ensure timely availability of parts for scheduled repairs and maintenance.
- Utilize dealership management software to track parts sales, manage inventory levels, and generate reports as needed.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory to identify discrepancies and ensure that all parts are accounted for.
- Stay updated on new product releases and changes in inventory to provide accurate information to customers and staff.
- Assist in the training of new team members on parts department procedures and best practices.
- Participate in promotional activities to drive sales of parts and accessories, including special offers and seasonal campaigns.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and competitive pricing.
- Handle returns and exchanges of parts in accordance with dealership policies and procedures.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education in automotive technology or a related field is a plus.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a parts department or similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts and their applications, particularly for Hyundai vehicles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Proficiency in using dealership management systems and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- A customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Nice to have
- Previous experience working in a Hyundai dealership or familiarity with Hyundai products.
- Certification from an automotive parts association or relevant training programs.
- Bilingual capabilities, particularly in English and French, to better serve a diverse customer base.
