What you'll do
- Greet customers who visit the dealership and determine their vehicle preferences and budget range
- Walk customers through the available inventory and explain the features of each vehicle on the lot
- Match customer needs with appropriate models from the dealership's current selection of cars and trucks
- Negotiate pricing and financing terms to reach a mutually agreeable deal with each buyer
- Follow up with customers after the sale to ensure satisfaction and address any remaining concerns
- Maintain a thorough understanding of current vehicle models, specifications, trim levels, and pricing structures
- Build and sustain long-term relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals
- Coordinate with service and finance departments to complete the sales process efficiently and accurately
- Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets set by dealership management on a regular basis
- Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions in the Jacksonville area
- Prepare and present detailed vehicle proposals including trade-in evaluations and financing options for buyers
- Handle customer objections and concerns with professionalism, patience, and a solutions-oriented mindset at all times
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or automotive training is a plus
- Previous experience in automotive sales or a related customer-facing retail role is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with a wide range of customers
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment with fluctuating schedules and changing priorities
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record as required by dealership policy
- Willingness to learn about new vehicle technologies, dealership processes, and product line updates regularly
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as part of the dealership sales team schedule
