About the role

Zscaler is seeking a dedicated consultant to act as the primary technical advisor for our enterprise clients in Mumbai. You will manage long-term onsite engagements, guiding customers through the architecture, configuration, and optimization of our security platform. In this capacity, you will serve as the main technical point of contact for strategic clients during engagements lasting six months, one year, or longer. You will lead discovery sessions, design workshops, and migration planning for enterprise-level deployments while configuring and integrating ZIA, ZPA, and Zero Trust Exchange solutions into complex customer environments. Your role will involve providing ongoing consultancy to support customer adoption and platform optimization, ensuring that security policies align with business objectives. You will partner with sales teams and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery and consistent client satisfaction. This position requires a deep commitment to resolving intricate technical challenges and translating them into clear, actionable strategies for diverse audiences.

• Integ ZIA, ZPA, and Zero Trust Exchange solutions to create cohesive security frameworks that span multiple platforms.
• Provide ongoing consultancy to support customer adoption, including training and best practice documentation.
• Optimize platform performance by analyzing logs, metrics, and client feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to escalate and resolve technical issues that arise during deployments.
• Partner with sales teams and external stakeholders to align service delivery with contractual expectations and client goals.
• Develop detailed implementation playbooks that standardize successful approaches for reuse across engagements.
• Mentor junior team members on methodologies for conducting discovery sessions and designing robust architectures.
• Track engagement health through regular status reporting and proactive risk identification for client leadership.
• Ensure all deliverables meet Zscaler's quality standards and compliance requirements for enterprise deployments.

Requirements

• Possess 8+ years of experience in technical, customer-facing roles such as SOC engineer, technical account manager, or professional services consultant.
• Demonstrate hands-on operational experience with ZIA and ZPA through documented implementations or configurations.
• Maintain a strong technical background in networking and security, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SSL/TLS, proxies, firewalls, PAC files, and GRE/IPSec tunnels.
• Show proficiency in authentication systems like SAML, SSO, and IdP integrations with multiple identity providers.
• Exhibit a foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and their application in functional domains related to security operations.
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both engineering teams and business leadership without relying on excessive jargon.
• Thrive in onsite environments located in Mumbai, requiring adaptability to local workflows and stakeholder expectations.
• Comply with all security and privacy policies as part of the application process and during ongoing employment.
• Commit to engaging with enterprise clients in a professional manner that reflects Zscaler's brand and service ethos.
• Remain capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting setting while maintaining attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI or machine learning tools for traffic analysis, anomaly detection, or policy optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure to better understand hybrid deployment scenarios.
• Experience with hypervisors including KVM, Hyper-V, and VMware for infrastructure-related troubleshooting.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, ZDTA, or ZDTE that validate expertise in security and zero trust domains.

Practical notes

This is an onsite role based in Mumbai, requiring consistent presence at the client location throughout the engagement duration. The position operates within standard business hours, with potential adjustments to accommodate critical deployment milestones or client meetings. Travel may be required between client sites within the Mumbai metropolitan region and occasionally to nearby cities as project scope dictates. Candidates must successfully pass all background checks and adhere to Zscaler's policies regarding data protection and confidentiality.
