About the role
The serves as a critical technical advisor within the Enterprise segment, directly reporting to the Director, Specialist Sales Engineers, Data Security. In this capacity, the hired individual owns the complex translation of intricate and often ambiguous customer requirements into coherent, compelling, and actionable data security solution architectures. This role demands a high degree of ownership and accountability for guiding customers through intricate evaluations and ensuring successful commercial and technical outcomes. The position requires a unique blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, enabling partners and agencies to effectively sell and support Zscaler Data Security long before the contract is signed. Success in this role is defined by the ability to craft data-driven narratives for C-suite stakeholders that clearly articulate security outcomes and quantifiable business impact, thereby influencing strategic decision-making. Furthermore, the incumbent will orchestrate smooth handoffs between sales and delivery teams to preserve continuity, mitigate risk, and ensure seamless implementation after deals close. To remain at the forefront of data security, the role involves piloting new workflows designed to streamline discovery, validation, and rollout for buyers in an ever-evolving threat landscape. - Architect and deliver sophisticated technical product presentations that directly address enterprise data security priorities and strategic business objectives.
- Conduct in-depth discovery sessions to gather detailed customer technical requirements, ensuring all proposed solutions align precisely with strategic goals and operational workflows.
- Lead complex product evaluations and configure custom solution designs that accurately reflect specific customer constraints, use cases, and regulatory landscapes.
- Design comprehensive evaluation test plans, provide guidance for their execution, and drive the analysis of results to ensure successful validation outcomes.
- Enable external partners and third-party agencies with the necessary tools, knowledge, and methodologies to effectively sell and support Zscaler Data Security solutions in the field.
- Orchestrate seamless handoffs between sales and delivery teams, ensuring continuity of technical promises and preserving customer trust after deals close.
- Craft compelling, data-driven narratives for C-suite stakeholders that highlight security outcomes, risk reduction, and measurable business impact in financial and operational terms.
- Pilot and refine new workflows aimed at streamlining the discovery, validation, and rollout phases for buyers, enhancing the overall procurement experience.
- Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex customer inquiries, providing authoritative guidance and resolution strategies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management and engineering teams to provide critical feedback from the field that informs product roadmap decisions.
- Develop and maintain deep expertise in data protection and web-related technologies to address sophisticated security questions with confidence.
- Demonstrate superior consultative selling skills by advising customers on best practices for securing their digital transformation initiatives.
- Leverage the Zscaler Extensible Cloud Platform to build scalable and flexible architectures that meet the unique demands of large enterprises.
- Mentor junior sales engineers and enablement partners on data security concepts, fostering a higher level of expertise across the GTM organization.
- Continuously research and adapt to emerging data security threats and frameworks to ensure solution relevance and future-proofing for customers.
Requirements
You hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification, combined with extensive pre-sales experience that demonstrates a strong technical foundation. You bring five or more years of cumulative pre-sales experience, including at least three years specifically focused on selling security or networking solutions within direct or high-touch sales environments. You possess proven, hands-on experience with data protection and web-related technologies, allowing you to discuss technical merits authoritatively. You have successfully operated in a matrix role, collaborating closely with GTM teams to promote, sell, and provide post-sales support for data security solutions. You exhibit the resilience and adaptability necessary to remain steady under pressure and maintain effectiveness through constant organizational and market change. You lead with the highest level of integrity, upholding stringent standards and building trust through complete transparency in all interactions. This role requires a commitment to high-trust collaboration, where respectful communication and candid dialogue are essential for navigating complex enterprise sales cycles.
