About the role
You will set the direction for how Zopa's most critical financial products are positioned and introduced to the market, owning the end-to-end product marketing strategy for a major portfolio. You will translate complex product value into compelling narratives that resonate with both customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring our story cuts through in a crowded market. You will act as a senior strategic partner to product and business leaders, aligning cross-functional teams around a unified vision that drives adoption and commercial success. You will raise the standard for product marketing excellence across the organization by demonstrating best-in-class thinking and execution. You will work at the intersection of data and creativity, using insight to craft messages that feel human and deliver measurable impact. You will build trusted relationships with key partners, positioning product marketing as the connective tissue between product, marketing, and growth. You will not just support launches but own the narrative and positioning that makes them successful. You will challenge the status quo and help define how Zopa thinks about go-to-market in a rapidly evolving financial landscape.

What you'll do
Conduct deep discovery and synthesis to define product positioning, value propositions, and messaging frameworks that align with business objectives.
Own the development of product marketing strategy and execution plans for a complex product domain, including positioning, pricing, packaging, and lifecycle planning.
Translate technical product features into clear customer benefits, creating narratives that support demand generation, conversion, and retention initiatives.
Define and maintain the product positioning and messaging architecture, ensuring consistency across all customer touchpoints and internal communications.
Partner with product managers to translate product vision into market-facing strategies, identifying opportunities and gaps in the competitive landscape.
Collaborate with commercial, sales, and customer teams to ensure product positioning is validated against real-world feedback and market performance.
Lead the creation of product positioning and sales tools, enabling commercial teams to articulate value and win customer conversations.
Work with content and design teams to build clear, compelling narratives that support campaigns, onboarding flows, and customer education.
Analyze market response and product performance data to refine positioning and recommend optimizations that improve commercial outcomes.
Champion product marketing practices within Zopa, establishing frameworks, playbooks, and standards for the team.
Act as the primary narrative owner for key product areas, ensuring that customer language drives internal alignment and external perception.
Support the scaling of product marketing functions by contributing to hiring, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing within the broader marketing organization.
Drive cross-functional alignment through workshops, briefings, and strategic discussions that ensure shared understanding and commitment.
Identify and articulate new market opportunities that can inform product direction and long-term growth strategies.
Represent Zopa's product vision externally, contributing to thought leadership and reinforcing the brand as a challenger in the banking sector.
Requirements
You must have the right to work in the UK and be eligible for UK employment without sponsorship.
You must be available to start within one month of receiving a formal offer.
You must have a minimum of five years of progressive experience in product marketing or a closely related role.
You must have demonstrable experience owning product positioning and go-to-market strategy in a complex B2C environment.
You must have a track record of translating technical or complex product concepts into simple, customer-centric narratives.
You must be comfortable operating at the intersection of strategy and execution, balancing long-term vision with immediate commercial priorities.
You must have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product, marketing, sales, design, and data.
You must have a strong understanding of customer segmentation, value propositions, and commercial impact in a financial services context.
Nice to have
Experience in financial services or regulated environments, where customer trust and clarity are essential.
A background in challenger or digital banking brands, with insight into how new banking models challenge traditional institutions.
Experience building product marketing functions from the ground up or scaling them in a growing organization.
Familiarity with data-driven marketing measurement and experimentation frameworks.
Practical notes
This is a permanent, full-time role based in London.
Candidates must be able to commit to a standard full-time schedule as defined by Zopa.
