About the role
You will architect and own the end to end performance strategy for our flagship Current Account product line, owning the full funnel from initial awareness through to conversion and retention. You will act as the internal quarterback for performance, translating ambitious commercial objectives into testable hypotheses and data-backed roadmaps that move the needle. This role demands a blend of creative curiosity and analytical rigour, as you challenge the status quo and uncover unconventional growth vectors that others might overlook. You will build and nurture trusted partnerships with cross functional teams, ensuring performance marketing is seamlessly integrated into the broader brand and product narrative. You will leverage experimentation as a core tool for de-risking major initiatives and continuously refining the customer journey based on real world behaviour. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast moving, ambitious environment where insight, ownership and accountability are paramount. You will leave a tangible mark by establishing scalable playbooks and frameworks that define how performance marketing drives sustainable growth for years to come. What you'll do
Develop and execute a comprehensive performance marketing roadmap for the Current Account, aligning channel strategy with business objectives and customer lifecycle stages.
Design and run a structured experimentation programme, owning test ideation, implementation, analysis and iteration to consistently improve conversion rates and customer acquisition efficiency.
Analyse complex multi channel performance data to identify trends, insights and actionable opportunities, translating findings into clear recommendations for stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with product and analytics teams to define key metrics, set up tracking infrastructure and ensure data integrity supports robust decision making.
Partner with creative and brand teams to develop compelling messaging and offers that resonate with target audiences and drive meaningful engagement.
Work alongside external media agencies and partners to optimise media spend, refine audience targeting and maximise return on advertising investment.
Build and maintain strong relationships with cross functional stakeholders, ensuring alignment, removing blockers and communicating performance results effectively.
Own the commercial performance of digital acquisition channels, managing budgets and bidding strategies to meet cost efficiency and growth targets.
Champion a culture of learning and accountability within the performance team, documenting learnings and scaling successful experiments across channels.
Identify and evaluate new paid, owned and earned channels and technologies, assessing their potential to drive sustainable growth and competitive advantage.
Define and track a comprehensive set of KPIs across the funnel, ensuring transparency into performance and enabling data driven discussions at all levels.
Lead the implementation of growth hacking initiatives, leveraging technical constraints and opportunities to gain disproportionate impact with limited resources.
Champion the use of first party data and customer insights to inform targeting, creative and landing page strategies that improve relevance and performance.
Act as the primary point of contact for performance marketing, serving as the expert voice on strategy, best practices and emerging trends for the business.
Requirements
You possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, demonstrating a solid foundation in marketing, business or a related discipline.
You bring a minimum of five years of experience in performance marketing, with a proven track record of managing and optimising complex digital campaigns.
You have a deep understanding of digital advertising ecosystems, including paid search, paid social, programmatic and affiliate or influencer channels where applicable.
You are highly proficient in analytics tools such as Google Analytics and data visualisation platforms, enabling you to extract insights and communicate findings effectively.
You have hands on experience with marketing automation platforms and campaign management tools, streamlining processes and improving operational efficiency.
You demonstrate a strong command of advertising platforms and their respective interfaces, including but not limited to Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager and similar systems.
You are comfortable working with large data sets and possess strong SQL skills, allowing you to manipulate data and build queries to support deeper analysis.
You exhibit a rigorous approach to testing and optimisation, using statistical significance and sound methodology to validate hypotheses and inform decisions.
You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex data narratives into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non technical audiences.
Nice to have
Experience in financial services or regulated environments is preferred, given the need to understand sector specific nuances and compliance considerations.
A background in building and maintaining high performing, data driven marketing teams is highly valued, as you will be expected to lead and develop talent.
Familiarity with banking products and customer acquisition in a highly competitive landscape is advantageous, providing context for positioning and offer design.
Experience with martech stacks, CDPs, or advanced tagging implementations is a plus, as it enables more sophisticated measurement and personalisation.
Practical notes
This is a full time role based in our London office, with the expectation of regular attendance.
The position is permanent and offers the opportunity to grow with a fast evolving, ambitious scale up.
