About the role

Workato is actively searching for an AI Researcher to join our efforts in developing and deploying machine learning and LLM-based services within our automation platform. In this position, you will partner closely with product and engineering teams to construct scalable artificial intelligence features that enhance the platform's capabilities. A core part of your responsibility will involve establishing rigorous evaluation and monitoring frameworks to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of our AI initiatives. You will own the design and execution of strategies for orchestration, retrieval, prompting, and tool-use that directly improve user outcomes. What you'll do

• Develop and refine AI services using custom models and LLMs specifically tailored for demanding production environments.

Requirements

• Possess a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the development and evaluation of AI and ML prototypes in a professional setting.
• Demonstrate a background in successfully building AI solutions specifically designed for enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Show practical experience with workflow-aware AI systems or tool-use agents, including their design and implementation.
• Exhibit proficiency in MLOps and LLMOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, model rollouts, and comprehensive evaluation pipelines.
• Capability to design and analyze experiments using statistical significance and A/B testing methods to drive data-informed decisions.
• Familiarity with modern data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake or Amazon Redshift is essential for effective data analysis.
• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, model training, and deployment strategies in cloud-native environments.
• Ability to write clean and efficient code, demonstrating strong software engineering principles even in research settings.
• Willingness to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team environment, communicating complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
