Key facts
What you'll do
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues, implementing effective solutions in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules, ensuring all equipment is serviced regularly.
- Document maintenance activities and repairs in detail, maintaining accurate records for compliance and future reference.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to safety protocols.
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, providing immediate technical support to resolve issues and restore normal operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety within the team.
- Communicate effectively with management and other departments to report on maintenance activities and suggest improvements.
- Support inventory management by tracking spare parts and supplies, ensuring necessary materials are available for maintenance tasks.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing ideas to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, mentoring junior technicians and sharing knowledge to build a skilled workforce.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a technician or in a related technical field, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a technical or industrial setting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and act decisively under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and management.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the operational needs of the facility.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software to assess equipment performance and identify issues.
Nice to have
- Certification in a relevant technical field, such as electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Experience with automation systems and control technologies.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role or leading a team of technicians.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software for maintenance management.
