About the role

This position serves as the primary financial leader for our Core Functions, overseeing a team of two Senior Finance Business Partners and an Analyst. You will provide strategic financial oversight, developing your team, and tackling intricate business problems with a focus on centralizing and optimizing workforce cost management. Your leadership will drive the long-term financial strategy related to our global workforce, including talent mapping and sustainable optimization of personnel-related expenditures. You will work in close partnership with the CPO and the People Leadership Team to ensure financial discipline supports our people-centric objectives.

What you'll do

You will translate complex financial data and detailed variance analyses into compelling strategic narratives to influence company-wide decision-making at the highest levels. You will establish, monitor, and own critical financial KPIs and metrics related to organizational health, span of control, location concentration, and cost-per-head, thereby driving accountability across departments. You will oversee the financial frameworks for employee benefit expenses and headcount management for the entire business, collaborating with stakeholders and peer Senior FBPs to ensure a unified, standardized approach. You will spearhead the automation of headcount tracking and employee benefit expenses reporting to create scalable, tool-driven architectures that maximize efficiency and safeguard data integrity. You will partner with the CPO and People Leadership Team to drive long-term financial strategies concerning global workforce location expansion, talent mapping, and organizational design. You will lead, mentor, and guide two Senior Finance Business Partners and an Analyst to ensure the cohesive delivery of financial planning, rigorous cost control, and insightful analysis across all Core Functions. You will act as the principal strategic financial advisor to our Chief People Officer, her Leadership Team, and the Senior Leadership Teams governing our Core Functions, which include Finance, Legal, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, and People.

Requirements

You possess a proven track record of managing senior-level finance professionals and excel in matrixed environments, driving collaboration with peer finance partners to achieve overarching company goals. You have extensive experience partnering with senior leadership teams, particularly within People and other Core Functions, and are recognized as a deeply trusted advisor. You have a demonstrated history of managing complex, company-wide headcount structures, including long-term workforce planning, international location strategies, and substantial operational expense budgets. You are passionate about leveraging technology to eliminate manual processes and have strong experience building KPI dashboards and predictive financial models. You hold a professional finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CICA, or an equivalent credential like an MBA or Masters in Finance, bringing extensive post-qualification experience and a strong grasp of IFRS and corporate accounting principles. You communicate complex financial concepts with clarity and strategy, effectively influencing the leadership team. You naturally zoom out to see macroeconomic and organizational interdependencies, applying a strict, KPI-driven lens to problem-solving. You are adaptable and resilient, thriving in a fast-paced tech environment while being firm on guardrails yet remaining collaborative. You possess strong project management skills, capable of driving cross-functional alignment across multiple offices and complex stakeholder groups. While operating at a leadership level, you are not afraid to validate data directly when necessary.

Nice to have

Experience within a hyper-growth FinTech or fast-paced global tech company. Direct experience with Workday and Anaplan integrations. A background in utilizing AI to optimize financial processes, data pipelines, and headcount forecasting.

Practical notes

This is a full-time position based in London. The compensation package ranges from £112,000 to £150,000.
