About the role
In this position, you will be responsible for shaping the technical direction of a team dedicated to developing internal systems that enable our operations personnel to effectively manage a large volume of business accounts. Your responsibilities will include balancing the immediate needs of Salesforce implementations with the development of tailored internal software aimed at automating workflows and consolidating data. You will lead a team of engineers while also engaging directly in architectural design and software development.

What you'll do
- Establish the technical roadmap and architectural framework for projects related to internal tooling.
- Oversee, mentor, and recruit a team of engineers to maintain high standards of code quality and ensure timely project completion.
- Work in conjunction with product management, design, and analytics teams to seamlessly integrate new tools into current workflows.
- Engage in product definition and prioritize technical projects, balancing quick wins with long-term infrastructure objectives.
- Develop solutions that enable proactive alerts, automate data entry, and streamline task assignments.
- Ensure that the team adheres to best practices in software development and system architecture.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to assess progress, address challenges, and celebrate successes.

Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in backend engineering and system architecture, particularly with a focus on scalable solutions.
- Proven track record of leading or mentoring software engineering teams across various functions.
- Expertise in designing intricate systems, managing databases, creating APIs, and implementing asynchronous messaging.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for resolving conflicts effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management practices.
Nice to have
- Experience with JVM languages, particularly Java or Kotlin.
- Background in the financial services industry, which would provide valuable context for the role.

Practical notes
- The starting salary for this position ranges from 6,666 to 8,333 EUR gross per month.
- The compensation package includes Wise Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) along with standard company benefits.
