What you'll do

• Lead the planning and execution of substation projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Develop and manage project schedules, resource allocation, and budgets, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure that all designs meet regulatory and safety standards.
• Facilitate communication between internal teams and external partners, including contractors and suppliers, to ensure project alignment.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges.
• Oversee the procurement process for materials and services, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
• Monitor project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track.
• Prepare and present project reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones and challenges.
• Ensure that all project documentation is complete, accurate, and stored in accordance with company policies.
• Foster a culture of safety by ensuring that all team members adhere to safety protocols and best practices on-site.
• Mentor and guide junior project team members, providing support and resources for their professional development.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in substation technology to enhance project outcomes and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the electrical utility or construction industry, specifically with substation projects.
• Proven track record of successfully managing projects from conception through to completion.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and substation design.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficient in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to electrical construction and substation operations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project demands.

Nice to have

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
• Experience with renewable energy projects, particularly solar or wind energy substations.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software for electrical engineering applications.
• Previous experience working with regulatory agencies and navigating compliance requirements.
• Understanding of contract management and negotiation skills.
