Westair is seeking a dedicated CAMO Engineer/Planner to join our dynamic team in Windhoek. This full-time position plays a crucial role in ensuring the continued airworthiness of our fleet through meticulous planning and management of maintenance activities. What you'll do

• Develop and maintain the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME) in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
• Oversee the planning and execution of scheduled maintenance tasks, ensuring all activities are completed on time and within budget.
• Conduct regular audits of maintenance records and processes to ensure compliance with aviation regulations and company standards.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify and resolve technical issues, providing expert guidance on airworthiness matters.
• Prepare and submit necessary documentation to regulatory authorities, ensuring all submissions meet the required standards.
• Analyze aircraft performance data to identify trends and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with external service providers for specialized maintenance tasks, ensuring all work is performed to the highest standards.
• Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance programs that align with operational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Provide training and support to junior engineers and planners, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes, ensuring the company remains compliant and competitive.
• Participate in safety management system initiatives, contributing to a proactive safety culture within the organization.
• Prepare reports and presentations for management, summarizing maintenance activities, compliance status, and areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Maintenance Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft maintenance or airworthiness management, preferably within a CAMO environment.
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, including EASA and FAA standards.
• Proficiency in maintenance tracking software and tools, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented mindset, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

Nice to have

• Experience with specific aircraft types operated by Westair, such as regional jets or turboprops.
• Familiarity with safety management systems and risk assessment methodologies in aviation.
• Additional certifications in aviation safety or maintenance management.
• Knowledge of lean management principles and their application in aviation maintenance.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and maintenance management software.
• Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and decision-making.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.

Practical notes

• This position is based in Windhoek, Namibia, and may require occasional travel for audits or training.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in Namibia, and visa assistance will be provided for qualified applicants.
