What you'll do
- Develop and implement governance policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with senior management and the board of directors to ensure effective governance practices are in place.
- Conduct regular assessments of governance frameworks to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for the board and senior management, summarizing governance activities, risks, and compliance status.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for staff on governance-related topics to promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for governance inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor changes in legislation and best practices related to corporate governance, advising the organization on necessary adjustments.
- Assist in the preparation for board meetings, including the development of agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions.
- Support the internal audit function by providing necessary documentation and insights related to governance processes.
- Engage with regulatory bodies and industry associations to stay informed about governance trends and requirements.
- Lead special projects related to governance initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
- Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams to enhance collaboration and ensure governance is integrated into all business processes.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, law, finance, or a related field; a master's degree or professional qualifications in governance is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate governance, compliance, or a related field, preferably within a financial services or regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance principles, regulatory frameworks, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and provide actionable insights.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse stakeholders, including senior executives and board members.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical standards and compliance.

- Familiarity with risk management frameworks and practices.
