What you'll do
- Develop and implement sustainability initiatives that align with Waymo's strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into all aspects of our operations, including vehicle design, manufacturing, and deployment.
- Conduct thorough assessments of current sustainability practices and identify areas for improvement, ensuring compliance with local and international environmental regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on sustainability metrics, progress, and challenges for internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Engage with governmental and non-governmental organizations to advocate for sustainability policies that support the autonomous vehicle industry.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices in sustainability, ensuring Waymo remains at the forefront of environmental innovation.
- Organize and facilitate training sessions and workshops to promote sustainability awareness among employees and stakeholders.
- Lead sustainability audits and assessments, providing actionable recommendations to enhance our environmental performance.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote Waymo's sustainability achievements and initiatives to the public.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants to support sustainability projects and initiatives.
- Assist in the development of sustainability-related content for Waymo's website and social media platforms.
- Participate in industry conferences and events to represent Waymo and share insights on sustainability practices in the autonomous vehicle sector.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability program management or a related role, preferably within the automotive or technology sectors.
- Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks, compliance regulations, and best practices.
- Proven ability to analyze complex data and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in sustainability reporting tools and software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
Nice to have
- Experience with carbon footprint analysis and reduction strategies.
- Familiarity with lifecycle assessment methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and their application in the transportation sector.
