About the role
You will act as the primary EMEA technical steward for the Waymo Driver, owning the end-to-end integration and lifecycle management of security technology systems that protect our people, assets, and data across the region. This role requires you to translate global security strategies into resilient, operational solutions for diverse sites in London and throughout Europe. You will ensure that critical platforms such as access control, video surveillance, and communication systems operate as a unified ecosystem, maintaining continuous alignment with corporate standards. As a trusted advisor, you will provide sign-off authority on security designs and commissioning activities, acting as the definitive regional voice on technical implementation. You will drive proactive system health monitoring and lead responses to hardware failures or software outages to minimize operational disruption. This position demands a strategic mindset capable of identifying process improvements and scaling security technology practices across a high-growth, international environment.

What you'll do
- Serve as an EMEA proxy to the Head of Security Technology & Systems through Site Delivery by providing sign-off during milestone reviews, security designs, and final commissioning while driving strategic regional initiatives and identifying continuous process improvements.
- Manage system health for a portfolio of EMEA sites with varying operational requirements, establishing monitoring frameworks and escalation protocols to ensure uptime and reliability across all locations.
- Partner cross-functionally with Security Investigations, Facilities Project Management, and local security integrators to ensure cohesive security technology delivery and seamless security systems operations from conception to handover.
- Conduct site security compliance audits and enforce corporate physical security standards across the region to guarantee continuous operational readiness and adherence to regional and global guidelines.
- Support Waymo's Physical Security Investigations program in the EMEA region, serving as the regional security technology Point of Contact for complex incidents and cross-jurisdictional queries.
- Oversee the integration of access control, video management, and communication systems to create a cohesive security posture that adapts to evolving threats and operational demands.
- Define and manage regional vendor contracts, tracking integrator performance metrics to ensure service levels are met and opportunities for optimization are identified.
- Lead emergency coordination efforts during onsite incidents, ensuring security technology systems support rapid response, communication, and resolution.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security technology trends and regulatory requirements affecting autonomous operations in the EMEA region.
- Document all security technology configurations, procedures, and audit findings to sustain institutional knowledge and support continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Possess 7+ years of progressive security technology experience in a corporate, or large organization, environment, demonstrating a consistent track record of managing complex technical deployments.
- Hold at least 3 years of direct experience managing a diverse security technology portfolio that includes multiple site types such as offices, warehouses, or labs.
- Demonstrate proven ability supporting onsite security incident response and emergency coordination within a distributed regional model, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Show experience managing regional-scale vendor contracts and overseeing integrator performance metrics to drive accountability and operational excellence.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and navigate change in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus on security objectives.
- Display sound judgment and the capacity to make independent decisions regarding security technology implementation without constant supervision.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of security technology lifecycle management, including planning, deployment, operations, and decommissioning.
- Commit to compliance with all corporate security policies, regional regulations, and global standards, ensuring that technology deployments remain within established risk thresholds.

- Bachelor's degree in a security-related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Security Management) that provides foundational knowledge relevant to security technology management.
- Experience managing security technology for fleet vehicle depots, high-velocity logistics hubs, or e-commerce fulfillment centers during periods of rapid company growth and change.
- Familiarity with physical security technology systems, including Integrated Intrusion Alarms, Access Control, and Video Management Systems, and their application in complex operational environments.
