Waymo is seeking a dedicated Aftermarket Planning & Procurement Lead to join our dynamic team in Mountain View, California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management and procurement, with a focus on aftermarket parts and services. Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead the planning and procurement processes for aftermarket parts and services, ensuring alignment with Waymo's operational goals and customer needs.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and improve service levels for aftermarket products.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and logistics teams to forecast demand accurately and ensure timely availability of parts.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to secure favorable pricing and service agreements.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to inform procurement decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor and manage the aftermarket supply chain, addressing any issues that arise to minimize disruptions and maintain service quality.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to procurement processes, supplier agreements, and inventory management.
- Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to aftermarket planning and procurement.
- Lead cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the aftermarket supply chain and improving customer satisfaction.
- Train and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions to align aftermarket procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in procurement practices, maintaining the highest ethical standards in supplier interactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management or procurement, preferably in the automotive or technology sectors.
- Proven track record of managing aftermarket parts procurement and inventory planning.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience in supplier management.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and procurement tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
Nice to have
- Experience with autonomous vehicle technology or related industries.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, ISM) is a plus.
- Experience working with international suppliers and understanding global supply chain dynamics.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools to present procurement metrics effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- This position is based in Mountain View, CA, and may require occasional travel to supplier sites or other Waymo locations.
