In the position of Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will take charge of developing and executing sourcing strategies for critical raw materials and manufacturing equipment. Your contributions will be essential in building robust supply chains that not only enhance production efficiency but also reduce risks and associated costs.

What you'll do
- Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies to fulfill the raw material requirements necessary for production operations.
- Identify, evaluate, and cultivate relationships with key suppliers, both within the United States and internationally.
- Spearhead negotiations for purchasing agreements and long-term supply contracts, ensuring advantageous pricing and strong supplier partnerships.
- Strengthen supply chain resilience by diversifying suppliers, managing inventory effectively, and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
- Keep abreast of global commodity markets, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory developments that could impact supply availability and costs.
- Collaborate closely with teams in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, and Program Management to support new product introductions and ensure supplier readiness.
- Partner with Logistics and Trade Compliance to optimize transportation and customs processes for international suppliers.
- Perform detailed analyses to inform make-or-buy decisions, cost modeling, and total cost assessments for sourcing recommendations.
- Set up and monitor supplier performance metrics, concentrating on quality, delivery timelines, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Address the sourcing requirements of government, defense, and commercial clients, particularly concerning domestic sourcing and supply chain security.
- Lead initiatives focused on achieving cost savings and enhancing productivity while ensuring a reliable supply of materials.
- Maintain precise records of supplier contracts and sourcing documentation within ERP and procurement systems.

Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier development roles.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating commercial agreements and managing supplier relationships effectively.
- In-depth understanding of supplier risk management, contract negotiation, and total cost of ownership concepts.
- Familiarity with ERP, MRP, procurement, and supply planning software systems.
- Strong analytical skills, along with excellent negotiation, communication, and project management capabilities.
Candidates must be U.S. Persons due to the need for access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

- Experience in the rare-earth materials sector or related industries.
- Knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices in sourcing and supply chain management.
- Previous experience working with government contracts or defense-related projects.
