Systems Engineer IV
Job description
Systems Engineer IV - Test at Voyager Technologies, Inc.
About the role
The Systems Engineer IV - Test owns integration and testing for rocket motor programs while acting as the primary technical liaison to customers. This position applies rigorous systems engineering methods to align test campaigns with program requirements and performance goals.
Software engineers turn product ideas into working code. Engineers work in small teams, review each other's work, and ship in small batches. Most teams follow agile practices such as sprints and daily standups. Engineers also write tests, fix bugs, and improve performance. The field values clear communication as much as technical skill. Engineers spend part of every week on planning, code review, and debugging, not just writing new code. The ability to explain a technical decision in plain words separates strong engineers from the rest.
Key facts
What you'll do
Execution of rocket motor integration and testing is led, covering preparation, test execution, and detailed post-test analysis to satisfy program objectives.
Test software and hardware for SWIL and HWIL testing is overseen, with test infrastructure aligned to system requirements and verification needs.
Test results, status, and issues are communicated clearly to management, customers, and cross-functional teams to maintain alignment and inform decisions.
Safety protocols and engineering standards are enforced during all test activities to protect personnel, assets, and mission integrity.
Test Readiness Reviews and related technical reviews are led to validate that program and system requirements are satisfied.
Complex issues are troubleshooted, and test anomalies are resolved through cross-team coordination to restore operations and prevent recurrence.
Requirements
A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field from an accredited institution is required.
Hands-on test engineering experience spanning seven to ten years within propulsion systems, aerospace, or related industries, including direct rocket motor integration and testing, is required.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills are required to guide and influence multiple engineering teams, lead complex projects, and make high-impact decisions.
A proven ability to drive results in high-pressure test environments is required.
Exceptional organizational and planning abilities are required to manage competing priorities in a complex test environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
